Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Kildare report 2013:

 

Hi Gerry,

2013 Committee

Meet typically every month, more regularly during peak season.

Voting Cumann na mBunscol Kildare delegate attends all county board meetings.

Over 106 schools out of 160 schools: At present this represents almost 100% of eligible  schools in Kildare (Remainder are infant schools etc.)

Website updated regularly with details of all events

Twitter account launched in 2013 to better communicate with members.

Bulk text system launched to better communicate with members.

Flickr account launched to host our new Cumann gallery of finals and events.

 

January:

Registration for 2014 commences: Online registration rolling out for 2014.

Basketball blitzes continue.

 

February:

Grading meeting held to allow schools to make their case for moving up or down a division. Held in Allen National School, Allen.

Committee meetings throughout this period to prepare publication of annual fixtures booklet and online publication of same.

Cross-country athletics event training begins in schools around Kildare.

Cross country application forms posted and processed: 2013: 1,200 children took part in 2013 in Kildare GAA Center of Excellence in Hawkfield.

Handball events: held in Leixlip GAA.

Mini-7s Games: Application forms posted to schools and processed.

 

March:


  • Girls Leinster Handball Finals hosted in Leixlip GAA
  • Cross country event: 21st March 1,200 children participated.
  • Mini-7s games: County wide regional blitzes in:
  • Boys Football
  • Girls Football
  • Hurling
  • Camogie

April:


  • Senior boys football begins: 7 Divisions with north and south group in each division.
  • Senior girls football begins: 4 Divisions with north and south group in each division.
  • Under 10 boys football begins: 7 Divisions with north and south group in each division.

May:


  • Senior Hurling begins: 3 Divisions with north and south group in each division.
  • Senior Camogie begins: 4 Divisions with north and south group in each division.
  • Finals in each code: 25 Finals in Summer season over 3 days in Moorefield GAA.

September/October:


  • Boys Under 11 Football: 7 Divisions with north and south groups.
  • Girls Under 11 Football: 5 Divisions with north and south groups.
  • Boys Under 11 Hurling: 3 Divisions with north and south groups.
  • Girls Under 11 Camogie Blitzes with north and south groups.

Under 11 Finals in above:


  • 7 boys finals.
  • 5 girls finals.
  • 3 hurling finals.
  • 4/5 regional camogie blitzes.

Finals held across 2 days in Moorefield GAA, Newbridge.

GAA coaching course for primary school teachers held in Scoil Mhuire, Newbridge.

November:

Indoor camogie blitzes hosted in Naas GAA.

Basketball league begins: separate competitions for small, intermediate and large schools, boys teams, girls teams.

Preparation for AGM begins.

December:

Basketball blitzes begin: separate competitions for small, intermediate and large schools, boys teams, girls teams.

Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Kildare AGM takes place Lumville House, Newbridge. Typically 70-80 attendees with guest speakers invited.
