Monaghan schools excel in Ulster Handball finals   12/02/2017

Antrim Allianz Cumann na mBunscol hosted this year’s handball in Belfast with the boys at Colaiste Feirste and the girls playing at St Paul’s GAC.

Uladh Chairman Pat McGivern  and Secretary Manus O’Donnell were on hand to welcome the young handballers, their teachers and parents to this year’s competitions. The quality of handball matched the first class facilities at both venues as the large galleries were treated to a feast of handball.

Once again this year the children from Monaghan Allianz Cumann na mBunscol were in sparkling form.  St Mary’s NS Monaghan, celebrating their 150th Anniversary this year, brought a well drilled team and indeed the coaching has paid dividend with Seán Callan lifting the U13 Singles Title a year after lifting the Uladh u11 Title.

In the u13 Doubles,  Nedas Guoga & Evan Bradley (St Marys BNS, Monaghan) just came up short in the final against Matthew Smith and Oliver McCrystal  from St. Mary's NS  Virginia, Cavan.

Juste Audiejaityte (St Louis GNS, Monaghan) lifted the u13 Girls Title.

The Provincial winners now progress to the All-Ireland Finals to be held at Kingscourt.
